Young People

About the programme This is an introduction to our popular parenting programme for anyone raising children. We welcome parents and carers from all backgrounds who would like to work on their parenting skills and build positive relationships with their children. We can help you to recognise and respond to the challenges of being a parent and the risks and concerns facing our children. Whether you want to help your child do well at school, deal with bullying, avoid online grooming or getting in with the ‘wrong crowd’, or just feel more confident: SFSC can provide you with strategies to help you feel equipped as a parent and help you to keep your children safe. The course runs for 2 hours a week for 4 weeks and will be delivered by two trained SFSC facilitators, who will provide additional support with weekly phone calls and texts. The course will help you to • Build positive family relationships • Help children stay safe and healthy as they grow and reach their full potential • Implement effective discipline strategies • Gain confidence and communication skills • Recognise and value your family and cultural traditions • Meet others and share ideas A free inclusive course to help parents and carers raise happy confident children all ages from babies to teens strengthening families strengthening communities Programme details Location/online platform link: Zoom (please sign up with Jade to receive your Zoom link) Date: Wednesday 3rd February 2021- 4 weeks Time: 10.00am-12.00pm (2 hours) Contact: Jade Briant 07841903289 jade@racefound.org.uk Facilities (if in person delivery) Four Session Introductory Course

This is an introduction to our popular parenting programme for anyone raising children.

Get your career moving and earn whilst you learn as a trainee bike mechanic … What’s on offer Train as a bike mechanic in Westminster supported by expert trainers Learn how to fix and repair bikes to be given back to the community Complete training for the offer of a guaranteed interview for a trainee mechanic job Trainee mechanic roles at a London living wage for 25 hours a week How can I get involved The project will provide accredited training to young people aged 18 – 24 that live in Westminster leading into a six-month job with Westminster Wheels, paid at the London Living Wage, under the supervision of a very experienced mechanic. During the six months, young people will be offered support to find a long-term career in the cycle industry. This will include working with local bike businesses supporting our project that desperately need more mechanics and people to work in the industry. Taster days will take place in the week beginning January 11th 2021 and will be an opportunity for to find out if this field of work is for you.
