Sun, Sand and Success at Westbourne Summer Festival

The Beach at the Westbourne Summer Festival 2013With temperatures of 30 degrees, ice cream at the ready and a real, yes real sandy beach, the Westbourne Summer Festival held on Sunday 7th July, was an event enjoyed by many members of the local community.

The afternoon hosted by Chris Paradox brought together a number of organisations such as Westbourne Family Centre and Westminster Adult Education Services who pitched information stalls whilst children enjoyed face painting and time in the bouncy castle during an afternoon of entertainment and fun for all the family.

The festival also saw a host of local talent take to the stage from the likes of youth choir Lyric Voices to rock n’ roll from bands Scud Penguin and Crash Report who brought the afternoon to a close in style. The talent didn’t end there though, as the festival also had amazing food on offer from the classics of burgers and ice cream (not together obviously!) from JS catering to the exotic flavours of West African Cuisine.

All in all, the event which saw Westbourne Green transformed into ‘Costa Del Westbourne’ for the day was a great success, bringing a variety of fun filled activities to the area and a real feel -good factor to the local community.
