Become a local Food Waste champion!

Westminster Volunteer Centre are running a programme to reduce food waste in the local area as part of the national Love Food Hate Waste campaign.

We in the UK chuck away up to one third of the food we buy before it ever gets eaten. Not only is this a huge waste of money, but it has a huge amount of environmental impact through the wasted energy used to produce and transport the food, and the impact of sending all this food to landfill.

Food champions are needed, who will offer advice, tips and support to communities in Westminster regarding how to avoid wasting food and money. Volunteers will receive training and support throughout.

For more info, visit the Volunteer Centre website here or attend the information sessions on Thursday 17th January 12.30-1.30 at the Porchester Library, or Thursday 7th February 6.30-9pm at the Volunteer Centre, Sutherland Avenue.
