YEP! Role Description

Young Westminster Foundation is a charity that works throughout the borough of Westminster to bring together youth organisations, young people, businesses, schools, and the wider community to shape opportunities and create the best services for young people in Westminster.

What is the programme?

YEP! will give you a glimpse into what Young Westminster Foundation does, and offers you a taster of different organisational opportunities for you to further explore.

Over the course of 4 months, you’ll gain skills in communication, grant making, peer mentoring and more! You’ll also gain insight into how charities and businesses run, with planned visits to our partners and member organisations.

By the end of the programme, you will have a greater understanding of the opportunities open to you within YWF and the wider Westminster borough.

What are we looking for from you?

 ● Must be aged 16-24* and live, work or study in Westminster. Those under 18 will need parental consent.
 ● Someone who either has experience attending a Westminster youth club / member organisation or is very passionate about improving the opportunities available to young people in Westminster.
 ● To be able to attend fortnightly meetings on a Wednesday evening at a central location within Westminster.
 ● Be enthusiastic about learning more about different opportunities within the charity sector. ● Someone who is keen to expand their skills in areas such as grant making, research and public speaking.

What can you expect from us?
 ● Experience of teamwork.
 ● Opportunities to work alongside our skilled staff to upskill yourself.
 ● Opportunities that fit your personal interests and support with adding this to your CV.
 ● Attending events with potential employers
 ● Paid London Living Wage (£13.15 per hour)
 ● Opportunity to become a YWF Young Associate following completion of this program.

Commitment:
This programme will run from October 2024 – February 2025 with 8 sessions running on a Wednesday evening for 2 hours
