Please watch out for the Asian Hornet

The Asian hornet has now made it as far as Hackney. This is an invasive species, apex predator for all insects, with each single nest capable of eating through 12 kg of native pollinators a year.

Not to be confused with native species:
Asian Hornet - Large, Dark body, Yellow legs
European Hornet - Large, Yellow body, Brown legs
Wasp - Small yellow body

Asian Hornet
Body — velvety, black / dark brown
Head — black with orange / yellow face
Abdomen - black/brown segments bordered with yellow band on the 4th segment
Legs - brown upper segment with yellow lower segments
