DESCRIPTION:\n\nArtist Alice Wilson will be leading a hands-on wood sculptu
 re session at theCOLAB The Artist's Garden. You'll saw\, drill and paint y
 our own piece\, then combine it with your group to build one large collabo
 rative assemblage — inspired by SAVOY\, a sculpture that lives at the he
 art of the garden.\n\nAlice Wilson is a sculptor whose work uses the mater
 ials of construction — timber\, paint\, nails — not to build but to as
 k questions about home\, place and belonging. SAVOY is a dense vertical fo
 rest of brightly coloured construction timbers with schematic outlines of 
 dwellings thrust aloft at their tips — a work that dissolves material an
 d architectural hierarchies\, leaving plentiful evidence of each process a
 s part of the meaning. In this workshop you'll work with the same instinct
 s: cutting\, drilling and assembling timber into forms that start as indiv
 idual pieces and finish as one collective assemblage.\n\nNo experience nee
 ded. Just bring yourself and wear something you don't mind getting paint o
