Community members meet to discuss future of the Forum

Over thirty local community members attended a meeting at Westminster Academy on 11th October to discuss the cuts and how they will affect the Forum’s work in the neighbourhoods.

Geoff Biggs, the chair of the Forum, asked the meeting to consider the messages that the Forum should be presenting in its campaign to stay working in Westbourne.

The consensus of the meeting was that one important area to focus on is the Forum’s role in bringing the various geographical and ethnic communities in the ward together.

One resident said without the Forum “There wouldn’t be a way to get people together locally to get things done or to discuss issues that affect us locally. Also it’s a way for the diverse community to come together.”
