Westbourne Youth Open Week a Success

Westbourne held its first ever Youth Open Week from Monday 28th June to Friday 2nd July 2010.   The Youth Clubs that took part were the Digital Media Unit, The Brunel Youth Club, The Stowe Club, The Amberley Youth Club and the Westbourne Park Family Centre Youth Club.   Each club was open for one day of the week for  new youngsters and adults to come in and see what goes on.  The Stowe Club had information on health for young people with various health professionals available to give advice.  They also had a smoothie bike for young people to discover how delicious fruit is without any added sugar or sweetners.  People new to the club could see how the magazine, The Cut, is produced and enjoy some healthy food.   Over 80 people came to the Stowe Club Open Day.  At the Amberley Club,  Brooks Advisory Centre offered sexual health advice, there was football, information on apprenticeships offered by Route 154 and the screening of a film made by the young people of the club with Vital Regeneration.  Westbourne Park Family Centre were pleased to welcome some new people, both young and adult,  who came to check out what was going on.
